$408M Settlement Announced in Willowbrook Toxic Exposure Mass Tort

Hart McLaughlin & Eldridge represented hundreds of individuals diagnosed with cancer in cases against businesses emitting ethylene oxide from a medical device sterilization facility. Steven Hart and Brian Eldridge were part of the leadership group in this litigation, which is believed to be the largest mass tort in the history of Cook County. After more than four years of intensive litigation, the case was resolved in 2023 for more than $450 million.
