Nicole Nystrom is a litigation attorney who focuses her practice on asbestos and toxic tort litigation, mass torts, medical negligence, personal injury, premises liability, and products liability. Ms. Nystrom litigates matters locally and nationally for her clients ranging from individuals to small businesses and large companies.
Prior to joining HME, Ms. Nystrom spent over four years defending businesses, including Fortune 500 companies against high-risk catastrophic injury and wrongful death litigation in cases primarily involving product liability, premises liability, and toxic torts, with an emphasis on exposures to asbestos, talcum powder, and various chemicals. She has extensive experience in all stages of litigation, from case inception through discovery, pre-trial, and trial and is well-versed in drafting motions, case investigation and research, deposing and defending witnesses, conducting discovery and trial preparation.
During law school, Ms. Nystrom was a member of the Trial Advocacy Team and worked as a law clerk in the Juvenile Delinquency and Child Protection Divisions of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office; as a law clerk in the Felony Division of the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office in Crown Point, Indiana; and as a clerk for the Honorable Judge Kathleen B. Lang in LaPorte County, Indiana.
Ms. Nystrom lives in the West Loop with her Great Dane rescue puppy.
